Online Therapy

I offer secure and convenient online therapy services for clients residing in Pennsylvania, with California services coming soon. I utilize the Psychology Today "Sessions" platform, which is HIPAA-compliant and designed specifically for secure healthcare communication. Sessions can be accessed directly through your browser or via the app, though I recommend using a computer for the best experience.

Preparing for Your Online Therapy Session

1. Check Your Internet Connection:

A strong and stable internet connection is crucial for a clear and uninterrupted session. While speeds of 800Mbps or higher are ideal, ensure you’re close to your modem or router for the best signal. If possible, disconnect other devices from your network to avoid bandwidth issues.

2. Choose the Right Device:

For optimal experience, use a computer rather than a phone. Phones should only be used as a last resort. Ensure you’re in a stationary, private location at home.

3. Use Wired Earbuds or a Headset:

Wired earbuds or a headset can significantly improve sound quality and prevent distractions like echoes. Wireless earbuds may not work as reliably.

4. Set Up in a Private, Well-Lit Space:

Find a quiet, private location where you won’t be interrupted. Lighting should come from in front of you to ensure your face is clearly visible on the screen. Avoid sitting with your back to a window or bright light source.

5. Adjust Your Video and Audio Settings:

You can practice with the video settings on the platform. You can hide your video image of yourself, adjust your audio, and make sure everything is set up correctly. Feel free to arrive early in the virtual waiting room to get settled.

6. Camera Positioning:

Place your camera at eye level and ensure your face is fully visible. Position my video feed at the top center of your screen to maintain eye contact during the session.

Remember:

Online therapy offers the flexibility to attend sessions from the comfort of your home, but it’s important to create an environment that allows you to focus fully on your therapy. If you have any concerns or need to test your setup, don’t hesitate to reach out before your session.
