My Journey and Approach

I hold two advanced degrees in psychology—an M.S. in Psychological Science from Shippensburg University and an M.A. in Applied Clinical Psychology from Penn State. My career has been a blend of research and clinical practice, with experience ranging from outpatient therapy to mobile therapy, and now, telehealth.

Since 2020, I’ve been running my own private practice exclusively online. I believe online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy, with the added benefits of flexibility and convenience. It allows me to focus more on my clients without the distractions that can come with in-person sessions. Plus, it’s opened the door for clients who might struggle with traditional therapy settings, offering them a more accessible way to get the support they need.

I’m currently licensed in Pennsylvania and California.

What I Bring to Therapy

I’m known for breaking down complex psychological concepts into clear, actionable advice. I don’t just focus on coping strategies—I go deeper to help my clients understand the underlying reasons behind their behaviors and teach them how to resolve these issues at their core. If you’re looking for real answers and practical solutions, I’m the therapist for you.

My specialties include:

  • Anxiety and Stress Management: Whether it’s panic attacks, social anxiety, or just general stress, I use evidence-based techniques to help you take control.
  • Trauma and Recovery: I’ve spent years focusing on childhood trauma, particularly complex PTSD.
  • Self-Esteem, Identity, and Personality: From imposter syndrome to perfectionism, I help clients build confidence and explore their identities.
  • Relationships and Social Well-being: Navigating loneliness, relationship issues, or dysfunctional family dynamics? I can help.
  • Productivity and Life Transitions: Whether you’re dealing with ADHD, career stress, or major life changes, I’m here to support you.
  • Mindfulness and Personal Growth: I incorporate mindfulness practices to enhance awareness and help you live more fully in the present moment.

Why I Do What I Do

I’ve always believed that everyone has something they can work on to improve their lives, and I’m here to help you find and achieve that. Whether it’s building independence, fostering positive energy, or simply navigating life’s ups and downs, I believe improvement is possible for everyone.

My background in research also makes me more well-rounded as a therapist. I stay updated on the latest developments in my areas of expertise and bring that knowledge into my sessions.

A Little More About Me

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially when I can fire up the grill on a sunny day. My love for movies runs deep—I’ve collected over 1,200 films, and I often find that stories on the screen offer unique insights into human behavior and relationships, which I bring into my practice. Drawing and painting are also passions of mine, helping me stay grounded and creative.

Growing up in the Deep South has shaped many of my values, particularly the importance of resilience, community, and staying true to oneself. These values guide my approach to therapy, where I strive to create a supportive environment that empowers my clients to grow and thrive.

I moved to Carlisle, PA in 2011, for graduate school and decided to stay because it feels like home. Balancing my work with my personal life is important to me, and I believe that taking care of my own well-being allows me to be the best therapist I can be.
